Hapag Lloyd have today announced that their Peak Season Surcharge (PSS), which had previously bee USD 325/TEU fo r the 1st half of December, will now rise to a eye watering USD 1000/TEU. This will heavily impacts any cargo currently booked, or looked to be booked on Hapag Lloyd sailings after the 15th December.
Whilst high, the total rate payable needs to be considered, as some lines have much lower PSS, but higher base rates.
